Entering one of the biggest beauty pageants, Bhutan is all set to debut for the Miss Universe competition as the organization announced the delegation of this year’s winner. The organization had also previously announced the finale to be held on 22nd May 2022, but in recent turn of events, the grand finale of Miss Bhutan 2022 is now scheduled to be held on 4th June 2022.

They released an official press release which stated, “We would like to announce to the nation that the Grand Finale of Miss Bhutan 2022 will be held on 4th June 2022 coinciding with the Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck.”

Meanwhile, the Preliminary Round for the competition will be held on 15th May 2022 which will be broadcasted live on Bhutan Broadcasting Service (BBS). “After decades of waiting, Bhutan will finally participate in Miss Universe beginning of this year. It is a moment of immense pride not just to Miss Bhutan but the national as well. Since the inception of Miss Bhutan in 2008, it had been a dream for the pageant to represent Bhutan on the biggest beauty pageant platform,” they added.

Miss Bhutan has been held previously as well but unlike previous winners, this year’s winner will compete at the Miss Universe. Miss Bhutan 2022 is the third edition of the pageant which began in 2008. The second one was held in 2010 and the third one is being held this year after more than a decade.

Miss Universe, established in 1952, is one of the most watched pageants in the world with an estimated audience of over 500 million viewers in over 190 territories. This will be the first time ever for Bhutan to participate along with 80 other countries.
