Stephany Amado crowned as the first ever Miss Cabo Verde International

Stephany Amado made history as she was crowned as the first ever Miss Cabo Verde International at the finale of the inaugural edition of the national pageant held on 3rd September 2022. Stephany Amado will now represent Cabo Verde at the upcoming edition of Miss International.

Stephany hails from Praia and represented Mindelo at the national contest. She also took home the Top Model belt at the finale. On winning the crown, Stephany quoted, “It's a huge satisfaction. I believe that I have always carried a crown. My parents encouraged me to be humble, resilient, raising the right way to treat others with respect.”

 

 

The model will receive a monthly salary of 50 contos for 1 year. On representing Cabo Verde at Miss International for the first time, Amado said, “The contest has existed for over 60 years and it is the first time that Cape Verde will participate, I hope to at least reach the top 20 or 10”.

Also at the end of the event finale, Tayrine da Veiga (Tarrafal) was adjudged as the first runner-up and was elected the friendliest at the finals. The ODS (Sustainable Development Goals) award and the second runner-up award went to the representative of Porto Inglês, Jassica Centeio. Indira Mendes (Asparagus) was awarded with Miss Photogenic award.

The contestants who competed at Miss Cabo Verde International 2022 were Akysanna da Veiga (Calheta São Miguel), Catheleen Veiga (Assomada), Eveline Cardoso (Cidade Velha), Indira Mendes (Asparagus), Jassica Centeio (Porto Inglês), Kativânia Ramos (Ribeira Grande de Santo Antão), Leandra Andrade (Ponta do Sol), Leonela Oliveira (Pombas), Lidiane Monteiro (Nova Sintra), Ludmila Monteiro (Sal Rei), Milena Miranda (Monasteries), Nickita Bulú (Cova Figueira), Paula Mendes (Santa Maria), Stefany Santos (Pedra Badejo), Stephany Amado (Mindelo), Tayrine da Veiga (Tarrafal), Vera dos Reis (Praia), Yara Ramos (Ribeira Brava), Denise Mendes (Porto Novo) and Anicia Almeida (São Filipe).
