Sylvana González has been crowned Miss Connecticut 2022 as she has become the official representative of her state at Miss America 2023. The finale to crown the first delegate of 95th edition was held two days ago at the Cabaret Theatre, Mohegan Sun.

The 24-year-old stunning beauty hails from New Britain and gave a stellar performance at the state competition. Her talent was Latin Jazz Dance as she performed a routine On Your Feet and her social impact initiative was called ‘With Heart, Redressing the Run of Abuse’. Her favorite quote is ‘The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will’ by Robin Williams.

On winning the crown, Sylvana took to her official social media as she wrote, “God forgive me for all the times I’ve asked you “why.” I get it now. You knew the plans you had for me. Plans to prosper me, never to harm me. Plans to give me hope, and a future. Connecticut, I have longed to wear you across my heart for 5 invaluable years as a local titleholder through the @missconnecticutscholarshiporg and today I was granted the opportunity to serve you as your Miss Connecticut 2022.”

“My life has been forever impacted by the opportunities, support, and extended family I’ve gained through @missamerica. I am HONORED to share a unified mission to prepare great women for the world, as they have prepared me, and look forward to an incredible year together. But for now - I am home with my family, giving glory to God, and looking for tissues cause your texts/calls/voicemails are making me sob big girl tears”, she added.

Miss America 2023 is the upcoming 95th edition of Miss America pageant which will be performed at the Mohegan Sun late in 2022. Emma Broyles of Alaska will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
