The Miss Earth Belgium organization announced yesterday, that Miss Excusive 2021 Nisa will no longer compete and represent Belgium at the upcoming edition of Miss Earth pageant. As Nisa stepped down from the opportunity due to her work commitments, the organization has appointed Miss Exclusive Air 2021 Selena Ali as the new representative of Belgium for Miss Earth 2021.
Hailing from Merksem, Antwerp, Selena is a freelance model and an applied psychology student. She also owns ‘Dolce Donna’, a retail shop for lingerie and fashion. She is an animal lover and works as a volunteer at Wild animals in distress - VOC Brasschaat/Kapellen, a non-profit organization.
Not new to pageantry, Ali was a part of Miss Belgium 2020 where she made it among the 32 finalists representing the Antwerp province. At the national pageant, Selena raised the most money of all the finalists for 'Hope for the Children' in Cambodia with her car wash campaign. Sharing a message that she would like to convey as a beauty queen, she said, “I would like to set an example for children or young people who are bullied. I would like to demonstrate through my life that you can achieve much more than you think.”
Selena is definitely a strong replacement for Nisa to represent Belgium at one of the biggest beauty pageants in the world. The organization is yet to disclose her advocacy but has made sure that her causes will blow minds. Belgium has been competing at Miss Earth since 2014 and is yet to have a Miss Earth placement. The new queen will compete for Belgium’s first Miss Earth crown, virtually, this December. Miss Earth 2021, will be the 21st edition of the Miss Earth pageant, Lindsey Coffey of the United States will crown her successor at the end of the event.
