The Denmark organization, through their official social media, announced the crowning of Silvia Topholm as Miss Earth Denmark 2023 as she became the official representative of Denmark at Miss Earth 2023. Denmark did not participate at Miss Earth 2022.
Silvia Topholm is 22 years of age and hails from Copenhagen. She studies medicine at the University of Copenhagen and is currently in her 3rd year. She also works at a skin clinic & models part time. Being a highly motivated person, medicine the perfect field of studies for Silvia as she can acquire new skills throughout her career.
Silvia’s advocacy is listening to science which she truly believes is the key to solving the current climate crisis, as well as many other global issues. Some people may be afraid of new technology and science due to the fact that they don’t quite understand it yet and Silvia wishes to use her platform to inform them and bring environmental and biotechnical start-ups to their attention. She hopes this will encourage more people to invest in such start-ups, as they are in need of funding.
Silvia describes herself as open-minded, kind and respectful of others, no matter their ethnicity, culture, religion, sexuality or political beliefs. This is something she hopes to inspire others to be as well. Some of Silvia’s hobbies include dancing, playing the violin and piano, reading and cooking.
Silvia won 2nd place in season 1 of the televised cooking competition Junior Masterchef Danmark, and she loves to cook a delicious meal for family and friends. During the Miss Denmark 2023 contest, Silvia won the Miss Natural Beauty. The most important thing to Silvia is her family. Her father is Danish and her mother is from Malaysia, which means she was brought up with a mix of these two cultures.
Silvia is looking immensely forward to travel to Vietnam for Miss Earth 2023. Miss Earth 2023, the 23rd edition of Miss Earth, will be held in Vietnam on 16th December 2023 where Miss Earth 2022 Mina Sue Choi of South Korea will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
