Laura Paulette Sánchez crowned Miss Earth El Oro 2018 for Miss Earth Ecuador 2018

Laura Paulette Sánchez was crowned Miss Earth El Oro 2018 at an event held in Machala on 4th August 2018. She is the official candidate of El Oro at Miss Earth Ecuador 2018 to be held on 21st September 2018.

From Huaquillas, 20-year-old Laura is a student at the University of Guayaquil, Ecuador. She has had previous experience in the pageant world; she was Queen of the Carnival of Huaquillas 2014, Queen of the Canton Huaquillas 2015 and National Queen of the Shrimp 2016. With so much experience in the pageant world, she sure is a contestant to look out for.

Laura was crowned against 5 other candidates who were fighting for the title of Miss Earth El Oro 2018, namely Julieth Gonzales from Puerto Bolivar, Johana Magallanes from Machala, Ana Armijos from Zaruma, Lissethe Sánchez from Santa Rosa and Angie Cueva from Pasaje.

As Laura becomes the official candidate of Miss Earth Ecuador 2018, Miss Earth Ecuador 2017 Lessie Giler Sanchez from Portoviejo will crown her successor at the grand finale of the national competition.

Interestingly, in the year 2016, Katherine Espin of Ecuador crowned Karen Ibasco of the Philippines as her successor at Miss Earth 2017. If Ecuador wins Miss Earth 2018, then the country will have achieved a sandwich win at Miss Earth for the first time in the history of Miss Earth pageant.
