Before the finale, Miss Earth Guyana 2018 contestants presented their ‘Beauties for a Cause’ project which will be a major factor in determining if the contestant is worthy of the title and its representation at international platforms.

Excited to share her advocacy to step forward into shaping a green Guyana, Xamiera Kippins states, “It is important that we treat mother earth with the respect she deserves as she is our source of everything we need to sustain our livelihood. Improper disposal of garbage has been the norm for our country in many areas for decades.”

She explains, “It is about time we adopt stong recycling and upcycling methods starting with simply separating our garbage. Instead of having plastic and glass bottles, tossed about clogging drains and polluting our land, we can use them to give back to our communities. I have decided to promote recycling and upcycling through my ReBUILD Initiative. ReBUILD stands for: "Recycle, build, upcycle and invest in lives with dreams."
