Miss Earth Guyana 2018 is in full swing! The seven contestants who are competing for the title are Luann OnikaRay Pellew, Xamiera Kippins, Anita Baker, Gabriella Chapman, Oriana Castello, Akisha Payne, Anasa Williams.

The finale of Miss Earth Guyana 2018 will be organized on 28th April 2018 and the winner will represent Guyana at the upcoming Miss Earth 2018 pageant.

The last Miss Earth Guyana pageant was held in 2010 when Soyini Fraser was crowned as queen but a representative was sent up for the international pageant as recent as 2014. Stacy Ramcharran took the crown back then, but after the franchise was lost one year later, it was not possible to choose another girl. As such she remains the reigning Miss Earth Guyana until the grand coronation of Miss Earth Guyana 2018.

The preparations for grand finale are under full swing. Just yesterday, the contestants participated in the official photo shoot for Miss Earth Guyana 2018. The divas dazzled in their outfits, looking ever so beautiful.

Under new management, Guyana Premier, the Miss Earth Guyana pageant is looking to make a difference this year, not only on the international stage but also to bring to awareness to several environmental issues facing Guyana.

The seven delegates on Sunday completed their swimsuit shoot at Fort Island, Essequibo River. “Each of the delegates, they have to make proposals as to what section of the environment they’ll be working with and how they can bring about positive change, calling to action persons to help as well and some of the areas that some of the girls are looking at are; recycling, proper garbage disposal, cleaning up of beaches and mangrove restoration projects, among others,” Managing Director Dr Omesh Balmacoon outlined.
