In an unfortunate turn of events, with Miss Earth 2022 on-going, Zambia’s representative Chileshe Wakumelo has been withdrawn from the pageant by the national organization, Miss Earth Zambia.

The organization shared the update on their official social media as they wrote, “Miss Chileshe Wakumelo who was appointed Miss Earth Zambia 2022 will no longer be representing us at this year's international competition scheduled for mid-November in Manila Philippines due to irreconcilable differences.”

“A replacement will be availed soon as Miss Wakumelo has ceased to represent Miss Earth Zambia in any and every way. We hope for the best for Miss Wakumelo in her future endeavors. Green Regards, Management”, they concluded.

The Miss Earth Zambia programme is a leadership and empowerment platform that seeks to engage, inspire and educate young women, children and community members to become change agents in the space of community upliftment, sustainable development and eco-preneurship. The programme helps to create an awareness of sustainable development, our environment, wildlife and the conservation of our natural legacy in Zambia, and ultimately the preservation of Mother Earth.

Miss Earth 2022 is all set to host the finale on 29th November 2022 in Parañaque, Philippines where Miss Earth 2021 Destiny Wagner of Belize will crown her successor at the end of the event. This is the 22nd Miss Earth edition.
