María Alejandra López Pérez was crowned Miss Grand Colombia 2023 at the finale of the national pageant held on 18th June 2023 broadcasted live on GrandTv YouTube channel. She will now represent her country at the 11th edition of Miss Grand International 2023 to be held in October, in the city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.

María Alejandra López Pérez is an industrial engineer by profession who graduated from the Sergio Arboleda University in Bogotá. She speaks Spanish, English and French. María Alejandra is very passionate about pageants with outstanding participation and representation for her country in national and international beauty competitions.

Maria competed in Miss Colombia 2013 where she was awarded as second finalist representing Risaralda and then represented Colombia at Reina Hispanoamericana 2013 where she was crowned the winner. She managed to win the Miss Caribe Hibisscus 2014.

Maria also participated in Miss World Colombia 2015 where she was crowned queen and got the chance to represent Colombia at Miss World 2015 but could not place. She also competed at Miss Universe Colombia 2021 where she finished as first runner-up.

Also at the finale, Yuri King and Valentina Cárdenas were adjudged first and second runners-up respectively. Diana Sandoval, Sasha Perea and Maria José Villegas made the Top 6 while Valeria Chavarriaga, Angela Gonzalez, Jania Lucia Viana, Andrea Motta, Daniela Mejia and Aischa Vargas Durán made up Top 12.

Maria succeeds and was crowned by Priscilla Londoño Miss Grand Colombia 2022 who represented Colombia at Miss Grand International 2022 last year and placed in the Top 10 with her stellar performance. Colombia is yet to pioneer its win at Miss Grand International.

Miss Grand International 2023, the 11th edition of the Miss Grand International, will be held on 25th October 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam where Miss Grand International 2022 Isabella Menin of Brazil will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
