The 24 years old winner, who happens to be Australia’s first international pageant winner since Jen Hawkins, shared during one of her interviews that the pageant’s aim to “Stop the war and violence” will see her visiting the Middle Eastern nation torn apart by ISIS.

It’s about bringing awareness, particularly to first world countries, about the issues that are caused by war and violence in the Middle East and Africa. There’s a trip to Syria on the cards,” she shared during the interview.

Claire also made it clear that she is not at all nervous about the visit and is in fact very excited to explore Syria. She is confident that her safety would be taken care of and that she wouldn’t face any problems.

Obviously it’s going to be quite out of my comfort zone, but obviously they wouldn’t send me anywhere where there is an immediate threat to my life. I’ll be cautious,” she said.

Exploring the journey with the Miss Grand International Team, Parker will visit troops and orphanages, and provide aid. What is your take on Claire’s first visit to Syria as the reigning Miss Grand International? Share your views in the comment section below...
