The organization of Miss Grand Jamaica announced Monique Thomas as the new Miss Grand Jamaica 2020 and she will represent Jamaica at Miss Grand International 2020 scheduled to take place on 27th March 2021 in Thailand. Due to the political situation in Venezuela in 2019, Jamaica did not send its representative to Miss Grand International 2019.
Monique is 26-years-old and stands 175 cm tall and has graduated with a degree in Communications from Florida International University. She works as a professional model and has lived in the US and Italy and has travelled to over 15 countries that has helped her in gaining a lot of experiences of life. She feels honoured and blessed to have a chance to represent her country at Miss Grand International 2020.
Monique mentioned, “I am most proud of my tenacity, adaptability, and compassionate heart. I believe these qualities will enable me to educate others on the importance of one’s overall wellbeing, mindful consumption, and how it plays a role in physical and mental health. My tenacity will ensure that I make the impact I hope to make during my reign and make a difference. It's all about having a vision, the willpower to execute it, and being open to all possibilities.” She was adjudged as the second runner-up at Miss Universe Jamaica 2020 at the end of the event finale.

The diva strongly feels that with her self-awareness and determination she can encourage people to build a stronger community that will help in reducing the violence in the community. She also feels that everyone should become the best version of themselves and work for their dreams. She is the co-founder of ‘Dream BowlsJA’ that not only aims to educate people but also provide superfood alternatives that helps in carrying out the day in the healthiest way.
Monique is a strong, confident, and determined woman who aspires to educate, uplift and lead by an example for the people in her community. With her business she is on a mission to educate and uplift communities starting with what they put into their body, then their mind, and finally their soul. She takes immense pride in representing her country on an international stage and would use the platform to make a positive change in society.
The diva has started to prepare for the finale event scheduled in March and feels that she wants to connect with others throughout her journey and make an impactful change in society. With her determination, she can emerge as one of the strongest contenders at Miss Grand International 2020.
