She also advocates about Period Poverty where her team has been trying to raise awareness as well as providing products needed during menstruation to the ones who are not able to afford them. She has worked very hard and believes that her efforts will show during the competition and she is ready to take onto the title and represent Malaysia at Miss Grand International.

First runner-up Mellanie Yew will advance to the Miss Grand Malaysia 2020 national finals along with wildcards Reeta Kaur and Meagala Kanesh. All four delegates are excited and prepping themselves up for the finale event.

Miss Grand Selangor 2020 state coordinator Kingsley Tham, when approached by CJMY to comment on the final event, said, “I was very happy. Miss Grand Selangor 2020 wasn’t an easy journey for all the finalists. It was a long journey in term of time due to the pandemic but it was difficult too because they don’t really have much time to bond and practise together. However, I was so satisfied with all the finalists’ performance as they were enjoyed on the stage, as they treated that night as once a life time experience, and they gave their hundred percent to deliver the best stage for the judges, their family, and their supporters.”

Miss Grand Malaysia organization had announced that the coronation ceremony for Miss Grand Malaysia 2020 will be held in the month of August to select Malaysia’s representative for the annual international pageant. The organization has also announced that the regional pageant for Miss Grand Sabah 2020 and Miss Grand Sarawak 2020 will not be conducted this year due to the restrictions and the state directors must handpick the delegates who will represent the respective province at the national pageant. It is to be noted that they have been given the option to submit the name of the delegates as wildcard candidates and not state winners.
