The organization of Miss Grand Uruguay announced Jimena Martino as the official representative of Uruguay for Miss Grand International 2020. With Jimena’s appointment as Miss Grand Uruguay 2020, the country is all set to return to the Miss Grand International stage after four long years.
Hailing from the city of Canelones, Jimena is 25-years-old and studies at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and the UTU; is "a technical administrator of companies”. She works at the Canelones Intendancy along with working as a manicurist at her mother's beauty center. The diva has been playing football for nine years and is passionate about the same. She plays for the San José team that competes in the Uruguayan Women's Championship organized by AUF.
She is excited to represent the country at Miss Grand International 2020 as she explains, “They offered me the opportunity to represent the country and since it was such an important event, I accepted without thinking.” She further mentioned if she must choose between soccer and modeling and since pageants are about representing her country, she will prioritize modeling because they provide individuals with unique opportunities that you cannot miss.
The diva is strong, confident, and determined that she will be able to perform her best on-stage and secure a high position at the competition. Jimena describes herself as an outgoing person who was always interested in acting, modeling and when she was five years old her mother took her to a modeling school and she instantly knew that her mother loved modeling and she started working towards making it happen for real.
Asking about what it means for her to represent the country on the international stage, Jimena mentioned, “It is a pride because once you go abroad, your name is no longer Jimena, you are Uruguay and that is a unique experience and constant learning because you are in contact with girls from other countries so the cultural exchange is very large and it is much you learn.” The diva is not new to the pageantry as she has represented her country at Miss South America 2020 in Peru and is now looking forward to representing her country at Miss Grand International 2020. She was supposed to represent the country at Miss Tourism World 2020 in China but opted to go for Miss Grand International 2020 instead.
Jimena feels that there is a lot of preparation for her to be done to ace the competition since all the delegates are very strong and dedicated to winning. She believes that at a beauty pageant like Miss Grand International, different aspects of the divas are evaluated and oratory is one of the important ones as well. The divas should be prepared for whatever question comes up and for that they must keep reading and understanding things happening around them.
The diva is strong, determined, and focused on her goal to represent her country in the best way at Miss Grand International 2020. She has started to prepare for the competition and feels that with the right amount of training, she can do her best.
