Miss Guinea Ecuatorial held its coronation night for the title of Miss Guinea Equatorial 2021 this Saturday on 30 October, 2021 virtually, where delegates from all over the country competed to win the coveted title and an opportunity to represent the country at the international format. Chelsea Martina Mituy was crowned as Miss Guinea Ecuatorial 2021 at the virtual gala. She succeeds Miss Guinea Equatorial 2019 Serafina Nchama Eyene to the title.

Chelsea is 19 years old and comes from Ebibeyin. Taking to her social media, the student expressed her emotions on the win and wrote, "Today has been a magnificent day because of the surprise that I have had, despite being unexpected, I have had cries of joy and a huge smile that nobody can take away from me."

The event was live streamed on the organization’s YouTube channel and two other national TV channels where Estrella Mendez Mbun~a was placed as the first runner-up.

Victoria Kalu Gerona of Annobon was crowned as Miss International Equatorial Guinea 2021 at the same event. She succeeds Miss International Equatorial Guinea 2019 Arcenia Chanque Bosepe to the title and will now represent the country at the 60th Miss International beauty pageant.  

The country made its debut in Miss Universe in 2019 under the delegation of Serafina Nchama Eyene where she beautifully represented her nation but unfortunately remained unplaced. The event was cancelled last year due to COVID-19 but Chelsea is now ready to represent her country the second time at the 70th edition of Miss Universe competition in Eilat, Israel in December, 2021.
