Meet Courtney Choy Miss Hawaii 2021 for Miss America 2022

Courtney Choy is all set to represent Hawaii at the upcoming edition of Miss America to be held in December 2021. The national pageant will be held at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, where the Miss America Organization will celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Courtney Choy was crowned Miss Hawaii 2021 at the finale held on 15th May 2021 at the Ala Moana Hotel. The 74th annual competition crowned Hawaii’s delegate to Miss America 2022. The Ewa Beach resident and Punahou School alumna entered the pageant as Miss Chinatown Hawaii.

 

 

Choy also graduated summa cum laude from the UH Shidler College of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing, management and international business. The stunning beauty performed hula auana for the talent portion of the pageant and won it. Her social impact statement is ‘Women’s empowerment through partnership.’

Courtney Choys’ court included first runner-up Tiffany Johnson, second-runner-up Carly Yoshida, third runner-up Maka‘ala Perry and fourth runner-up Lauren Teruya. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s pageant was conducted in-person with a limited audience of parents and sponsors and a mix of pre-recorded segments.

The 2021 edition which was originally scheduled in December 2020 and was offered to host at the pageant's headquarters in Atlantic City, New Jersey was cancelled on May 8, 2020 due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
