It appears that Miss Intercontinental 2017 1st runner-up Katarina Rodriguez from the Philippines is in no mood to leave the pageantry word as yet. At least that’s what we fathom from her latest statement.

Katarina expressed her further interest in some other international pageant than Miss Intercontinental 2018. Talking to media people just after she landed back in the Philippines, Katarina mentioned: “I want to join Binibining (Pilipinas) again for a different crown.”

Not just this, Katarina also explained how she looks at her journey of Miss Intercontinental 2017. “I did everything right. I always dressed appropriately. I practised and practised, again and again, every day. That’s my forte. I did expect to win. Nothing at all I could do differently, it’s just that’s the way it is.”

If Katarina does finally decide to join Binibining Pilipinas again, then she would be walking in the footsteps of this year’s Binibining Pilipinas candidate Catriona Gray. Catriona was a part of Miss World 2016 representing the Philippines and she placed in Top 5 that year. Now she is a Binibini who aspires to become the representative of Philippines in Miss Universe this year.

Katarina’s run in Miss Intercontinental 2017 was one amazing ride. She was skilful, eloquent and graceful to the word Tee. Never a dull day for her in the competition, it seemed, Katarina was already the winner. So, naturally it was a kick in the teeth for many when she didn’t win the crown, instead, Mexico’s Veronica Salas Vallejo stepped the ladder of 1st place in the competition. 

Many people in the Philippines believe that she was always meant for Miss Universe pageant with her charm and wit. So, it has come as a pleasant surprise for her ardent lovers that she might be a part of pageantry world in future.
