The grand finale of Miss Intercontinental 2017 was a very huge event with sixty-five delegates from all over the world competing for the international title. The Miss Intercontinental beauty pageant is a title that judges overall beauty, elegance, personality, poise, pose, communication and security of the delegates who are vying for the crown.
2017 saw the crowning of Verónica Salas Vallejo as the new Miss Intercontinental 2017. She was crowned by Miss Intercontinental 2016 Heilymar Rosario Velazquez and it is safe to say that Verónica was very deserving of the crown. The 24-year-old Mexican diva has a degree in physical education and during her free time she likes horse riding and going to the gym to keep herself fit.
Verónica’s life-motto is ‘Believing in yourself is the first step to success’ and it is this motto that brought her step by step closer to the Miss Intercontinental crown in 2017. This intercontinental beauty is bilingual with the ability to speak fluently and confidently in English and Spanish. Verónica considers dancing to be her special talent as well as one of her favourite hobbies.
Upon winning the title, Verónica said, “My crowning moment is still something I have trouble processing, mainly because I was so shocked and it took my breath away. I was preparing my self not to win because the girls I was standing next to were huge competition. I mean that crown could have gone to any of them, and it would have made complete sense. But then my name was called, and I dropped to the floor.”
Verónica’s statement upon winning show just how beautiful she is on the inside. She is the pure embodiment of a beauty queen. Added to that was her prior experience in the pageant world as she was the 2nd runner-up of Mexicana Universal 2015 (that time called Nuestra Belleza México). She became Miss Earth Water in the year 2016. Verónica was also in Top 20 of Miss Eco International 2017 where she represented Mexico.
Since her win, Verónica has been very interactive with her fans through her social media accounts and has given us an insight on how this international beauty chooses to live a healthy and happy life. By being so active amongst her wide followers, Verónica is motivating them to lead a similar life as well. Very soon she will be travelling to Manila, Philippines and crown her successor during the grand finale of Miss Intercontinental 2018 on 26th January 2019.
