Karen Gallman was one of the fortunate ladies to have won a crown during the finale of Binibining Pilipinas 2018, and it is safe to say that she was very deserving for the title. At the conclusion of the biggest national pageant of Philippines, Karen was crowned Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2018, which earned her the right to represent her nation in Miss Intercontinental 2018 to be held on 26th January 2019. Being the gorgeous diva that she is, Karen is one of our favourites for the coveted Miss Intercontinental 2018 crown.
The 26-year-old diva has a Filipino mother and a father who is half-Australian and half-Spanish. She was born and raised in Bohol, after which she grew up in Australia. Now, she is living in her motherland, Philippines, about which she said, “I would live to be a stellar example of a Filipina, and a woman of substance for people to look up to, and be the light of love and positivity to everyone I meet.”
Karen completed her studies from University of Queensland in 2017 and this is not the first time she participated in a pageant. The beauty queen was a contestant in Binibining Pilipinas 2012, where she emerged as one of the Top 12 finalists. Her participation left a considerable mark in the hearts of the audience, which, in turn, left them wishing to see more of Karen. As a result, it was a delight for her followers when they came to know that she was in the run for the national title again.
Loved by all, Karen does not depend on her good looks for her success. Talking about her journey into the world of pageants she said, “I’ve always been a firm believer in the law of attraction combined with hard work; and the idea of creating one’s own happiness. Self-awareness was something instilled in me at a very young age by my mother and late father. I was taught nothing is ever too big to achieve; that everything is possible if you set your mind to it and are willing to work hard for it.”
During her free time, Karen likes to read books, swim, go hiking and travelling around the world. She went to London after completing her studies and developed a successful career and as a result. Addressing her travelling bug, she said, "It gave me the chance to travel to many parts of the world. Travelling, and the experience gained from it widens your horizon and gives you a bigger knowledge of the world – something that not only inspires you but also gives you better empathy towards different kinds of people.”
Karen loves to dance, which is also one of her special talents. She is also bilingual with the ability to speak fluently in Filipino and English languages. Standing tall at 168 cm, her favourite quote is one by the famous actress, Audrey Hepburn, “Nothing is impossible; the word itself says ‘I’m possible’.” Karen calls herself a risk-taker who likes to take on a good challenge. She believes that participating in Miss Intercontinental 2018 is one of the biggest challenges she has faced so far.
The Filipina beauty is more than qualified to compete for the international title, and it is due to her hardworking and confident nature that she is one of Angelopedia’s favourite delegates competing in Miss Intercontinental 2018.
