At the grand finale of 2018 UK Power Pageant held in June 2018, Joey Staerkle was crowned Miss Intercontinental Wales 2018. As Joey prepares for her international pageant Miss Intercontinental 2018 where she’ll represent Wales, she finds time to talk about her dreams, ambitions and more in an exclusive interview with Angelopedia.

Q . How does it feel to be crowned Miss Intercontinental Wales 2018 and now a delegate of Miss Intercontinental 2018?

It’s a great honour to have won the title amongst such amazing competition, I look forward to carrying on the traditions of Queens before me and hope to do the title justice and make people proud.

Q . What is the best lesson you’ve learnt in your journey as the delegate of the United Kingdom Power Pageant 2018?

To believe in yourself always and that things are always possible if you work hard.

Q . What is the one thing that keeps you going and inspires you to be the best version of yourself?

All that people that told me I couldn’t do something or would never make anything of myself, never let that negative energy drag you down instead use it to drive you forward and be better always.

Q . How would you like to represent yourself at the international stage of Miss Intercontinental 2018?

I would like to represent myself as I am, hard working, ambitious, with a good heart and trying to help others.

Q . Who is your idol, if any and what values of theirs do you wish you could inculcate in your own life, and teach the next generation?

My parents, they raised me to not waste time on frivolous things, and to work hard and believe in myself, and to be successful both in life and business just as they have done, I hope I can be as successful as they have proven themselves to be.

Q . If you could be invisible for a day, how would you like to spend it?

I’d spend the day in one of the city centres, seeing how homeless people are treated, being invisible I think is the only way you would truly get to see something like that without being in that situation yourself, and maybe you could learn how to help them more, and appreciate things you have in life that we take for granted so much more.

Q . Would you like to share your most special childhood memory with us?

One year my nana who is no longer with us, made Easter truly magical one year as she decorated her garden with Easter eggs, decorations and real bunnies, as a small girl it was the most amazing thing that I have never forgotten and I swear I saw fairies in the trees that day, and still believe in them to this day.  You should never lose the magic from your life, my nana taught me that.

Q . What or who empowers you to be yourself and work hard everyday?

I empower myself,I don’t think we should be passengerswhen it comes to shaping our own lives, soI always make sure I am in the driver’s seat. I am very driven for success and I believe working hard now will pay off later. I enjoy working on constantly expanding my knowledge base and experiences, I try to grasp as many opportunities as I can.   You are never too old to learn new things!

Q . What is the one thing you can label as your guilty pleasure?

I really enjoy demolishing Mc Donald’s cheeseburgers with sour cream.

Q . We’re sure that this competition is another milestone in your life. What is that one thing that you ultimately want to achieve?

I want to feel a sense of achievement and satisfaction when I look back on my life, knowing I have truly pushed myself and chased every experience and opportunity presented to me.

Q . If you are granted 3 wishes right now, what would you ask for?

• To be able to heal the sick,

• Bring back lost family members,

• Stop animal cruelty including animal testing, there is no need for such cruelty and suffering.

Q . Lastly, is there any message that you would like to give to your fans of Angelopedia?

Thank you so so much for all your support and messages, the road to pageant finals can be long and stressful but so rewarding when you see people supporting you along the way!
