The 55th Annual pageant of Miss International is scheduled to be held on November 5’ 2015 in Tokyo, Japan. The contestants, who will be flying in from all around the world to compete at the pageant, will be staying at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hiten Hall in Tokyo, Japan. There are a total of 72 contestants competing for the coveted crown this year.

Miss International remains the only pageant which has no winner resigned or dethroned till date. The winners of Miss International pageant are expected to serve as the ambassadors of peace and beauty, and benevolence, friendship, beauty, intelligent, ability to take action and a great international sensibility, are some of the key factors of the pageant. The pageant works with the objective of spreading world peace, goodwill and understanding. Miss International is one of the Big 4 pageants, after Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Earth.

The pageant was created in Long Beach, California, USA, in 1960 after the migration of the Miss Universe pageant to Miami Beach. Hosted in Long Beach until 1967, the pageant moved to Japan from 1968-1970, each year the contest was held in the Tokyo as the Expo '70. In 1971 and 1972, it was held in Long Beach again, but since that time it has been held yearly in Japan. At the conclusion of the finale of Miss International 2015, Valerie Hernandez of Puerto Rico will pass on her crown and her reign to her successor. Also, the winner of Miss International 2015 will get to wear a new crown created and designed by Mikimoto. Are you excited? We know, we are…!!
