After the postponement of Miss International for two consecutive years due to covid-19, the 2022 edition of Miss International was held at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Japan on 13th December 2022 where Jasmin Selberg of Germany was crowned the new winner from Germany.

Jasmin Selberg bested 65 candidates to win the Miss International crown from her predecessor Miss International 2019 Bint Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand who reigned for three years. Jasmin is a German-Estonian beauty queen who hails from Dortmund, Germany.

The stunning beauty fluently speaks English, German, Estonian and Korean. In April 2019, she entered Ruhr University Bochum in Bochum, Germany to pursue a bachelor’s degree in history and philosophy. The 22-year-old stunning beauty focuses on genocide research in historical sciences through her studies.

On winning the Miss International 2022 crown, Jasmin took to her official social media to reveal her emotions in a post captioned, “Miss International 2022. The 60th Miss International.. I don’t think that there are words that can describe how I feel right now. I feel grateful. Grateful for everyone who believed in me. Supported me. Pushed me to strive for greater things. Saw something in me that I did not detect when I was younger. Laughed with me and cried with me.”

“To everyone who made this journey possible; thank you for being there for me. Thank you for making this experience memorable for me. This goes out especially to my International sisters. The amount of fun we had during our time here is endless. I love you all. Thank you for being so good people, but most importantly FRIENDS”, she added.

Being a polyglot, she also worked as an interpreter who translated German reality TV shows into different languages. Not new to the pageant world, Jasmin participated in various beauty pageants. In 2021, she represented Germany at the Miss Globe competition where she finished in the Top 15. She then joined three more pageants in 2022 which were Miss Universe Germany, Miss Supranational 2022 (did not place), and then went on to compete at Miss International.

In January 2022, Jasmin founded Queens Raising Awareness, which is an international community whose goal is to collaborate with beauty queens around the world to raise awareness around environmental and social topics. After the release of the new sakura-themed crown created by Vietnamese luxury jewelry maker Long Beach Pearl for 2022 edition, Jasmin has become the first winner to wear the new crown.

Jasmin Selberg's visit to multiple countries, during her reign, was not only about glamour and pageantry but also focused on making a positive impact in the lives of the local community. As Miss International 2022, Jasmin dedicated her time to engaging in philanthropic activities.

Education has always been her advocacy as she believes it to be the key to empowerment. Jasmin has collaborated with various organizations and schools to promote education among young girls and women. She has also worked with local orphanages and charities, organized various activities, including interactive sessions, games, and art workshops for child empowerment.

Jasmin Selberg's reign has left a mark on the hearts of all the people she has met. Her grace, humility, and dedication to philanthropy has touched many people as she continues to create a ripple effect of change and positivity.
