The 60th edition of Miss International pageant is scheduled to happen in November this year. With less than 6 months left to prepare the representatives, countries have begun their process of either crowning or appointing their beauty queens who will lead their countries at the international platform.

Miss International Kuala Lumpur organization has joined the league as it has appointed Ashlyn Ooi as their new Miss International Kuala Lumpur 2020/2021 who will now head on to the national pageant for a run to win the opportunity to represent Malaysia at Miss International 2021.

24-year-old Ashlyn stand 172 cm tall and works in a company as a Financial Executive. Her passion for beauty pageants and modelling has led her into pursuing modelling as a part-time. She began her pageant career when she participated in Miss Tourism where she was adjudged as the first runner-up in her very first pageant.

Ashlyn was also a part of the Face of Beauty International pageant in 2019 the happened in Philippines where she represented Malaysia for the first time. Even though she failed to pass through as a semi-finalist, she was overwhelmed with the positive encouragement and support she received in the country.

Ashlyn believes that beauty pageants can transform an ordinary girl like her into a confident woman of future. She also recently mentioned why she wants to be Miss International Malaysia as she shared, “Being a pageant fan, I believe many pageant lovers in Malaysia will agree with me that we have been through so many ups and downs. Every time we have been hoping so much for our beauty queens because they are so beautiful and have a full package, and every time we are very disappointed because our queens are unplaced for many years. But we Malaysians have a spirit of not giving up and keep sending our best delegates to international platforms.”

She added that she will give her best to represent Malaysia, like her inspirations Miss Grand Malaysia 2020 Jasebel Robert and Miss International Malaysia 2019 Charmaine Chew who did proud to the country at their respective delegations at the global pageants, and provide her 200% during the preparations during these tough times.

Ashlyn believes that “if there’s a will, there’s a way,” and thus feels like she will make for a great delegate for Malaysia and display her most potential for the national title. She has big potential and the face for the Miss International pageant. While we wait for an official statement, her appointment has hinted towards Malaysia sending a representative for the pageant this year.
