Miss Iraq 2017 is on its road to the finale, and is scheduled to be held today, i.e. 25th May 2017 at the Babylon Warwick Hotel (Gilgamesh Hall) in Baghdad. A total of 15 contestants are vying for the coveted title this year. The 15 stunning finalists of Miss Iraq 2017 are:

The contestants are getting ready for the event to present themselves in the best of avatar to win the hearts of many. Shaima Qassem Abdulrahman, Miss Iraq 2016 will crown her successor at the glitzy finale. People are quite excited about the pageant and to know the lucky name of this year’s winner.

The beauty pageant will be held this year during a televised event in Baghdad. The pageant was directed by Senan Kamel, organizer of Baghdad Fashion Week and co-founded by a group of Iraqi civil activists, Inanna Group, and Al-Mada Foundation for Media Arts & Culture. Members of the jury included representatives from Iraq's Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities.

Iraq only held one pageant as part of Miss Universe in 1972, and since then it has never sent a delegate to international pageants. The beauty contest is the first one in more than 40 years to take place in the war torn country.
