The Miss Iraq organization hosted the coronation ceremony on 29th July 2021 in Baghdad, Iraq, where Maria Farhad Salem was crowned as the new queen, besting 17 other candidates. She will represent Iraq at Miss World 2021 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This will be the first time Iraq will send a delegate to the Miss World pageant.
Maria is a 20-years-old Assyrian beauty queen from Qaraqosh. She is an Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) survivor who is excited about taking over the crown duties as Miss Iraq 2021 and starting her preparations for the competition. She is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and works as a professional model too.
Miss Iraq 2021 Maria Farhad Salem’s court includes:
First runner-up: Sima Al Jaff
Second runner-up: Zena Alyousif
Third runner-up: Gulistan Karo
Fourth runner-up: Dana Jawaz
The beauty queen feels blessed and excited about new opportunities on her way and will soon start to prepare herself for the competition. In 2014, she and her family were forced to move from Mosul to Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq amid ISIS terrorist attacks. The diva has managed to work hard, stay dedicated, and earn herself a name and fame that she can be proud of.
Maria is a beautiful, strong, and humble woman who is now looking forward to meeting the delegates of Miss World 2021 and preparing herself to represent Iraq at Miss World in the true sense, as it’s going to be the debut of the country with her performance. She thanked the organization and everyone who helped her to stay dedicated, motivated, and supported her throughout the competition.
The diva represented Nineveh Plains in Miss Iraq 2021 and is now focusing on finessing her skills for Miss World 2021 as her participation brings a lot of responsibility upon her. Maria is a strong-headed woman who is ready to showcase to the world the power of an Iranian woman.
Although the Miss Iraq organization held a contest to send its representative to Miss Universe, it will not participate in Miss Universe 2021 since the contest will be held in Israel.
Congratulations!
