The newly crowned Miss Israel 2017 Rotem Rabi is one of the gorgeous winners of this year’s national pageant, and is definitely a strong contender for the title of Miss World 2017. 21 year old Israeli beauty Rotem hailing from Jerusalem was a favourite for the crown, and you should know that the title didn’t come easy to her. It’s like her hard work and efforts finally paid off.

“I want to thank all of you for the kindness and support I received from you,” Rabi wrote Wednesday on Facebook and Instagram. “Appreciate it and love you very much!” Her social media fan following helped her win the contest. This was the first year that online voting was combined with judges’ votes to pick Miss Israel winner. Social Media was central to the contest. Each contestant was given a profile page on the contest’s website, complete with bios, photos and Instagram-inspired modelling videos.

Her Instagram followers topped the other contestants, with a whopping number of more than 14k - more than double that of any of the other women who made the final four. Rabi served as a medic in the Israeli Air Force. She has worked as a model while starting the process to join the Israel Police’s investigative division. She dropped out of the Miss Israel contest last year to accept a modelling contract in Milan.

The multi talented beauty further writes, “I write this post with tears of excitement. For after a long journey and an amazing experience, today came the big moment.”

Miss Israel (Malkat Hayofi Israel) is an annual national pageant in Israel that officially selects representatives of Israel for Miss Universe and Miss World international pageants. Rotem is definitely a strong bet for the Miss World 2017 title, however she would have to work on her communication and presentation skills. Will she be able to bring the second Miss World crown to Israel, only time will tell.
