Along with winning the Miss Kuyamis 2023 crown, Langala also won major and minor awards including Best in Kuyamis-inspired Cocktail Attire, Miss MADC Dental Clinic, Miss Amaya View, and Miss Photogenic. From a victim of body shaming to a beauty queen with purpose and passion, Langala definitely made her own space. Despite being a newbie in the pageant scene and the youngest contestant, she continues to strive and live her life however she wants to.

Langala talked about the importance of hope in tourism during the ‘new normal’ part of the Q/A at the finale. Her answer was also in accordance with the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental’s (PGMO) push for goal-oriented tourism.

“I can show that there is PAGLAUM (hope) in tourism because we faced a lot of difficulties and challenges, such as the pandemic. A lot of things have changed, but there is always a silver lining. Despite the darkness, there is beauty, there is light, and there is love, and I believe that there is no pandemic or any other new challenges that we cannot overcome because, as one Misamison, we are the paglaum of Misamis Oriental,” she quoted.

Along with her, Mary Love Lopez of Talisayan, Kriztine Claire O. De Guzman of Opol, Eri Rose R. Ong of Naawan, and Shenalyn A. Lauron of Gingoog City were adjudged first, second, third and fourth runners-up respectively.

Twenty-one beauties competed at Miss Kuyamis 2023 founded by former Governor and now Congressman Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano. Now in its 10th year, Miss Kuyamis pageant has served as an avenue for beauty queen hopefuls to make their way in the national and international pageantry.
