Bethany Trahan from Lake Charles was crowned as Miss Louisiana USA 2017 on October 8, 2016. Bethany succeeds Maaliyah Papillion and will now represent Louisiana in the coming edition of Miss USA 2017, wherein Deshauna Barber of District of Columbia will pass on her crown to her successor.
Louisiana is one of the most successful states at Miss USA and is one of only seven states to have three or more Miss USA winners (in 1958, 1961, and 1996) under the representation of Eurlyne Howell (1958), Sharon Brown (1961) and Ali Landry (1996).
The beauty queen enjoys traveling and spending time with her family which includes her younger sister Kamryn Trahan. Bethany is a student at the McNeese State University where she is studying Public Relations. Bethany is also actively involved in National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) on campus, as well as Public Relations Society of America (PRSSA).
The young lady also plans to be the first member in her family to graduate college and after her graduation in 2017, Bethany hopes to use her degree in Public Relations and obtain a position in the Public Relations department for a local casino.
Bethany has a lot of goals in life and wants to make a difference by bringing attention to Mental Health Awareness while working closely with NAMI. The delegate is so determined and wants to use her voice to comfort those who are hurting and educating those who are not.??
Bethany has always dreamt of becoming a travel blogger and she enjoys learning about other cultures, and has traveled to over seven different tropical islands. Bethany’s most relaxing moments are flying with her dad in his helicopter, which she can also fly with his assistance.
Bethany is really passionate about helping others and she wants to comfort those in need.
