Beauty Talks with Miss Missouri Earth United States 2018 Chrystelle Volckmann

Miss Earth United States 2018 is all set to organize its grand finale on 14th July 2018 where delegates from all over the States will compete for the national crown. Andreia Gibau, the reigning Miss Earth United States, will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

But before that, here we have Miss Missouri Earth United States 2018 Chrystelle Volckmann sharing her experience and journey of being the national delegate of Miss Earth United States 2018 in an exclusive interview with Angelopedia.

Q . How does it feel to be the winner of Miss Missouri Earth United States 2018 and a delegate of Miss Earth United States 2018?

It honestly has been such a blessing to be a part of an organization that stands for something so powerful. I was born and raised in Missouri, and now am continuing my education here in Missouri, so being given the honor to represent my state has already been such a wonderful experience. I truly feel like this has been such a great opportunity and I couldn't be more excited for meeting all of the other delegates and having the chance to compete next month.

Q . What is the best lesson you’ve learnt in your journey as the delegate of Miss Earth United States 2018?

The best lesson that I have learned so far in my journey as a delegate for Miss Earth United States is it's important to keep the end goal in mind, but also to relax, have fun, and realize the purpose of the organization. We are all "beauty with a cause" and what I, as well as all of the other delegates, really want to accomplish is making a positive difference on this earth.

Q . What is the one thing that keeps you going and inspires you to be the best version of yourself?

When I was younger, I was in a severe car accident that nearly took my life. This experience has made me so grateful to just be alive each and everyday. I vowed to myself earlier on to always keep enduring and to live my best life possible/be the best version of myself each and every day, because you never know when it can be taken from you.

Q . We would love to know more about your advocacy to save the Planet Earth and what drove you to choose it?

My advocacy to help save the Planet Earth is wildlife conservation/health care. I grew up on a farm, and spent a lot of time out in nature. I helped my dad care for all of the animals on the farm, and this created a huge love from animals in me. I am currently in my senior year of studying animal science, and I am applying for Veterinary college this fall. With my love and passion for animal care, advocating for wildlife conservation/health care was a natural drive for me. I had the incredible honor of getting to go to South Africa in May/June this year to work a a veterinary outrach group where we helped provide animal care to communities in need.

Q . How would you like to represent yourself at the national stage of Miss Earth United States 2018?

On the national stage of Miss Earth United States, I would love to represent myself as someone confident, ready for the job, and classy. I hope my presence on the stage portrays this and that the judges get a good opportunity of learning who I am during the interview.

Q . Who is your idol, if any and what values of theirs do you wish you could inculcate in your own life, and teach the next generation?

I would have to say that one of my idols would have to Audrey Hepburn. Not only was she able to become this image representative of class and pose, but she stood for something greater than herself. She had such huge involvement with UNICEF and other humanitarian organizations. When a person is blessed with that much influence in the world, I find it extremely important in being a good role model to stand for others and give back.

Q . If you could be invisible for a day, how would you like to spend it?

If I was invisible for a day, I would travel as much as possible. I mean, really think about it, trains or planes, they would all be accessible for the day. I would definitely try and go see everything I could fit into one day.

Q . Would you like to share your most special childhood memory with us?

One of my most special childhood memories would have to be when my family would take the boat out on the lake and we would could "tubing". I always loved trying to hang on while the tube was going really fast and my dad would try to turn the boat quickly trying to throw me off. We would stay out on the lake all day, and eat our packed lunches right out on the boat. Sometimes my dad would go fishing, while my mom and me went swimming or just layed out in the sun.

Q . What or who empowers you to be yourself and work hard every day?

Honestly, I would have to say my Dad has  helped empower to be who I am each and every day. I was adopted by the man I call Dad when I was 8 years old, and he has made one of the biggest impacts on my life possible. Everytime I need advice, or just a good laugh to get through, he is always there and I believe that I am the strong person I am today, because of all of the support I get from him and my family.

Q . What is the one thing you can label as your guilty pleasure?

My guilty pleasure would definitely have to be bubble tea. I spent some time in  LA my freshmen year and some of my friends down there introduced me to bubble tea. It has definitely been my guilty pleasure ever since. Whenever I am feeling down or just a little bit stressed out, I treat myself to strawberry shortcake bubble tea.

Q . We’re sure that this competition is another milestone in your life. What is that one thing that you ultimately want to achieve?

Like I said before, being given the opportunity to competed for the title of Miss Earth United States is just a blessing in itself. Ultimately, I would just like to be proud of my performance and know that I made a positive difference in someone or something's life. I am also really looking forward to meeting all of the incredible women from across the country and I hope to develop lifelong friendships.

Q . If you are granted 3 wishes right now, what would you ask for?

If I were granted 3 wishes, my first wish would be to get rid of animal cruelty. I would next wish for all of my family to be cared/provided for and to be happy. Lastly, I would wish for the world to be a more understanding and less selfish place.

Q . Lastly, is there any message that you would like to give to your fans of Angelopedia?

Remember that change starts with you. Think of every dollar that you spend as your vote for what our market desires. Educate yourself on the things you believe in and always stay true to who you are. Enjoy each and every day because you never know when it will be your last.
