Andrea Montero crowned Miss Mundo Costa Rica 2020

CNB Costa Rica hosted the grand finale of Miss Mundo Costa Rica 2020 on 15th October 2020 where Andrea Montero was crowned as the new queen at the end of the event finale and has earned the opportunity to represent Costa Rica in Miss World 2020. Miss Mundo Costa Rica 2019 Jéssica Jiménez Muñoz crowned her successor at the end of the event finale.

Hailing from the state of Limón; Andrea is 19-years-old and student teaching English at University of Costa Rica and Business Administration at TEC. She also works as a model and will be representing the country at Miss World 2020 stage. The diva is a lover of visual arts such as painting and drawing and has been passionate about Karate. She was a member of the national Karate-do team and athlete of CODICADER 2016. She is strong, dedicated, and confident that she will perform her best at the competition and make the people of Costa Rica proud.

Andrea believes that if one starts believing in oneself then there is nothing in the world that can stop them from achieving their dreams. In one of her posts, she has mentioned, “It is amazing how much can be achieved once we realize how capable we are!” She is a keen advocate for women empowerment and her posts on social media clearly states that; “When women work together, we can lead, but that will not happen if there is the selfishness and destructive competitiveness that makes many women perform acts to affect or turn off the light to another woman. The diva had performed exceptionally well throughout the pageant and was considered as one of the strongest contenders for the title and with her hard work and dedication, she finally has a crown on her head leading towards Miss World 2020 stage. On asking why did she participate in Miss Mundo Costa Rica, she stated that she felt identified with the values of the pageant and felt like it’s a platform she can use to carry out her advocacy which is to help children of her community. She explained, “When I decided to create Inspiring Kids I knew that a lot of work was required to create a project that would really have an impact on a community, but I was sure that if I had the opportunity to create a project, it would be one that would challenge me, that would make me leave my area. of comfort and above all, one in which I could really help people.” She as a student teaching at the University of Costa Rica, provides free English classes to children from the community of María Luisa.

Andrea is a strong, beautiful, assured candidate who not only wants to have a positive impact on the society but also is keen on bringing in the change. She is very proud of herself and the person she has become now and believes that beyond the crown, there is an evolution and learning that she will be experiencing as her journey towards Miss World 2020 begins. She has thanked everyone who has supported and motivated her throughout the competition.
