The Miss Mundo Puerto Rico organization hosted the coronation ceremony for the 2022 edition on 30th June 2022 at Centro de Bellas Artes de Caguas where stunning delegates from all over the country will compete for the national title. At the end of the event, Elena Rivera was crowned as the new queen, Miss Mundo Puerto Rico 2022 as she succeeded Miss Mundo Puerto Rico 2021 Aryam Diaz Rosado for the title.

Miss Mundo Puerto Rico 2022 Elena Rivera’s court includes –

First runner-up – Andrea Carolina of Lares

Second runner-up – Amanda Pérez Solís of Rio Grande

During the final question round, Rivera gave her opinion on abortion, one of the most controversial issues on the island and in the United States in recent months. She assured of being pro=life and that she understands that a court should not have the power to decide on a woman's body.

Apart from the national title, the organization also announced winners of the six pre-pageant competitions which included –

Miss Talent - Amanda Pérez Solís of Río Grande

Best Figure - Mariela Pepin of Luquillo

Top Model – Elena Rivera of Tao Baja

Head to Head Challenge - Yamirelis Carrasquillo of Carolina

Beauty with a Purpose - Estefanía Lugo of Hatillo

This edition was dedicated to Delia Cruz, former holder of the franchise of the contest and who passed away last May, at the age of 87. During the final, several candidates, including Miss Manatí, Miss Río Grande, Miss Hatillo, Miss Canóvanas, Miss Dorado and Miss Humacao, performed a song in tribute to Delia.

“In how I have grown as a person, highlighting that the Elena at the beginning of the contest is not the same as now. I find myself to be a completely different and mature woman. So many beautiful things that I have earned such as the new friendships that I have made, the personal growth that I have had and the most beautiful thing, the support of each one of you. I have to thank God for all this journey,” she shared hours before the finale.

Last year, Aryam Diaz represented the country at Miss World 2021 and finished among the Top 40 semi-finalists. The new queen, Elena will now prepare for her international stint to represent Puerto Rico at Miss World 2022, the 71st edition of the pageant, scheduled to be held later this year.
