22 years old Cassandra Angst was recently crowned Miss Pennsylvania USA 2017 and she will now represent her state at Miss USA 2017, wherein Deshauna Barber of District of Columbia will pass on her crown to her successor.
Pennsylvania has not been a successful winner at the Miss USA pageant and has only won the Miss USA title once (back in 1971), and they have placed a total of 13 times. Pennsylvania’s last placement was in 2014 when their delegate was one of the top 20 finalists.
Delighted after winning the title, Angst said, “"It didn't feel real. I was so shocked, I couldn't breathe. As a resident of Pennsylvania, I am incredibly honored to represent the pride and glory of our wonderful state as MISS Pennsylvania USA 2017. Through my participation in the pageants, I am overjoyed at the chance to showcase everything that living in our beautiful state means to me, and I pledge to continue to make Pennsylvania proud.”
Cassandra Angst is 2012 graduate of Neshaminy High School and plans to use her newfound fame to educate girls and women about eating disorders. The beauty wants to spread awareness on eating disorders because this is something she had experienced when she modeled in New York City.
During her reign, Cassandra will travel throughout Pennsylvania making appearances and acting as ambassador of the state at a variety of charitable events, social functions and more.
Everyone is looking forward to Cassandra Angst to bring the coveted crown of Miss USA to Pennsylvania. The Miss USA 2017 pageant will be held in June 2017 and Cassandra is sure to make her state proud. What do you think?
