Camila Escribens for Miss Peru 2022?

The Miss Peru organization has begun casting queens for this year’s edition of the Miss Peru competition. The winner of Miss Peru 2022 will succeed Miss Peru 2021 Yely Rivera for the title. One of the biggest comebacks being anticipated for this year’s national title is of Camila Escribens.

The 22 year-old diva attended Clovis North High School in Fresno, CA. Camila was born in Lima and lived in Fresno, California. Not new to pageantry, she became the first runner-up in the Miss Peru 2019 contest and earned the title of Miss Grand Peru 2019. Camila represented her country at Miss Grand International 2019 where she placed in the Top 10 with her exemplary performance.

The Peruvian beauty was also appointed as Miss Supranational Peru 2020 but withdrew from Miss Supranational 2021 competition due to her health problems and advice from her doctors. Camila suffered from a brain disease, brain AVM i.e. a tangle of abnormal blood vessels connecting arteries and veins in the brain. The arteries are responsible for taking oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the brain. Veins carry the oxygen-depleted blood back to the lungs and heart. A brain AVM disrupts this vital process.

During her withdrawal last year, the diva had shared, “I will return with more strength to compete with all my heart, I want to return ready to wear the name of my country on my chest with pride.” Anticipated to return for the title, Escribens will definitely be an ideal choice for the delegation.

Last year, Yely Rivera represented Peru at Miss Universe 2021 in Eilat, Israel, where she gave a stellar performance but failed to secure a placement. Will Camila Escribens return to be the new queen and represent Peru at Miss Universe 2022?
