Miss Portuguesa 2017 (Miss World Portuguese 2017) pageant has kicked off and is moving towards the finale in full swing. The pageant kicked off in Lisbon and there are a total of 24 contestants competing for the title. The contestants, along with Miss Portuguesa 2016, Cristiana Viana, Miss Supranational Portugal 2016, Linda Cardoso, the 2nd princess from 2016, Diana Sofia, and Miss Brazil World 2008, Tamara Almeida, are indulged in various events and activities.

The next destination for the girls after Lisbon was Elvas, a town that was years ago built to defend the Portuguese frontier from the Spaniards. The contestants travelled to Elvas for their official photoshoot in evening gowns, swimsuits, and face portraits. The journey for the girls didn’t end there, and after Elvas the contestants travelled to the mountains to Covilhã. The contestants were surprised with special gifts by the organization, which made their trip the one to remember.

The contestants are currently residing at the Puralã Wool Valley Hotel & Spa in Covilhã. The girls visited the oldest wool manufacturer in Portugal, which first started to operate in 1620. The delegates also learned a few things about the history and architecture of Covilhã. As part of their Preliminary Activities, the delegates attended a fashion show with costumes created by local fashion students.

At the conclusion of the finale scheduled to be held 29th July 2017, Cristiana Viana will crown her successor. While the winner will compete at Miss World 2017, the runners-up will go on to represent the country in other Grand Slam contests, such as Miss Supranational, Miss Grand International and Miss International.
