The Miss South Africa organization is preparing to host Miss South Africa 2021 in October 2021, with delegates from across the country competing for the national title. The organization had posted a trailer as an announcement asking interested candidates to send in their videos for the competition a few weeks ago. The winner will succeed Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida for the title and earn the opportunity to represent South Africa in an international competition. The last date to enter the competition is 24th June 2021 at midnight.

Fikile Cele is one of the applicants for Miss South Africa 2021 who, just like everyone else, is hoping to get selected for the competition where she will be able to showcase her full potential and use the platform to make a change in society. She is 22-years-old. She is an aspiring model and radio personality who wishes to use the platform of Miss South Africa 2021 to break down every barrier that society has placed in her path.

In her entry video, the confident Fikile stated that she aspires to change the narrative and remind every woman that it’s okay to be different and embrace who you are. She explains that now, more than ever, she has felt to use her voice, embrace her future, and face her power. The diva took to social media to share her story, explaining that she was abandoned in a box outside a factory before being adopted by an Indian woman.

Cele shared that her birth mother abandoned her because she got pregnant as a teenager, causing her to flee from Johannesburg to Durban out of fear of losing her family. Her birth mother did come to look for her and was given visitation rights by her adoptive mom, but the diva doesn’t have any memories of her.

The diva also shared that she was constantly reminded that she didn’t belong here and, as a young child, had to struggle through illness and eventually learned that nothing is impossible when you trust where you are going is nothing compared to where you are currently. Everything works out for your highest good.

Miss South Africa 2021 is a platform for Fikile to channelize her power, self-confidence, and greatness to advocate for all women who have felt broken, unwanted, unseen, and unheard.
