As the New Year has begun, Miss Staten Island 2018 is ready to crown its next Queen on 21st January 2018 at the finale held in Congregation B'Nai Jeshurun, Staten Island. Jim Smith, the pageant’s Executive director, said: "We have had many venues on Staten Island that were home to the pageant over the 52 years, but this is the classiest, by far.”

The pageant which is produced on a local level is the official Miss America preliminary which means that the crown holder goes on to nab the title of Miss New York and thereafter, vie for the title of Miss America.

Arlene Rachman, the Co-President of the venue noted, “We are so fortunate to be hosting the 2018 Miss Staten Island Pageant in our beautiful venue. I have had the opportunity to interact with many of the contestants and staff of the pageant and this scholarship pageant is a wonderful opportunity for young ladies. To see these bright young women is an inspiration to all of us. They are the future of our Staten Island community."
