02 Jun 2020 | Angelique Reyes

The 12th edition of Miss Supranational i.e., Miss Supranational 2020 will be held in the month of December this year, where the delegates from all over the country will compete for the title. Miss Supranational 2019 Anntonia Porsild from Thailand will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

Miss Supranational Organization has recently announced the launch of the competition’s Community Service Initiative, “From the Ground Up”. The aim of the initiative is to launch and support of grassroots endeavors in the delegates’ local communities. The Creative Director of Miss Supranational, Andre Sleigh, mentioned “The organization is focusing on helping their delegates develop their own passion and leadership skills. It must go hand in hand with believing in what they are doing. In the years, to come, we will be working with our winners to take their projects, “From the Ground Up”, we are hoping to visit grassroots projects in every country we travel to, so we can highlight what is being done.” He further added that the Grassroots initiative can happen anywhere and at any time to address a local need.

The initiative was brought in process due to the on-going pandemic as the organization stated that the current scenario has taught  everyone that things can change in a blink of an eye and community in every country has been affected and the need for support and kindness is the need of the hour.

Last year, Anntonia Porsild from Thailand was crowned on 6th December 2019 at the International Congress Center in Katowice. She is the first woman from Thailand to win the title. Anntonia is proud of having developed a sense of self-love and self-belief, which she sees as key qualities for personal development. During the contest, she also helped Miss Laos translate her messages into English to the global audience.
