15 Jul 2021 | Camilla Suarez

Adis Herrera Reyes was crowned Miss Supranational Costa Rica 2020 in a special ceremony hosted by the Nuestra Belleza Costa Rica. Adis will now be heading to Poland to represent Costa Rica at the upcoming Miss Supranational 2021. She succeeds Miss Supranational Costa Rica 2019 Lohana Aguilar, who represent Costa Rica at the 11th Miss Supranational but unfortunately remained unplaced.

The diva took to her social media to share her feelings, she wrote, “I have no words to describe the emotion I feel to be your new queen, those who know me and have been with me throughout these years know how hard I have worked and prepared for this moment. This dream of a simple girl but with the desire to take over the world came true. This is just the beginning.”

20-year old Adis is a communication and journalism student and lives in San Jose, Costa Rica. Grown up in Cartago, she represented Costa Rica at Miss Teen Universe 2018 at the Teatro Nacional Rubén Darío in Nicaragua and finished in the Top 16. She was also Miss Turismo Latino Costa Rica 2019 and was supposed to represent Costa Rica in Miss Turismo Latino 2019 but the international pageant was cancelled due to the sociopolitical and economic crisis in Ecuador, the host country.

Adis is a queen with true social sense and throughout her reign she has been seen working on causes of welfare and charity. The diva visited the Indigenous Boruca territory in December 2019, to deliver food, sanitary implements and other items. Prior to this, the Costa Rican beauty carried out an intense campaign to collect food that was delivered to the population of this reserve, who dressed up to receive it.

These visits were a part of the social work to which Adis Herrera has committed herself, who as Miss Supranational Costa Rica wants to leave a positive mark in favor of Costa Rican society in the midst of the crisis the country is going through due to pandemic.

Miss Supranational 2021 will be the 12th edition of the Miss Supranational pageant to be held in Nowy Sacz, Poland. The edition was originally scheduled at the end of 2020 but was postponed due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. While Costa Rica is yet to pioneer its win for the Miss Supranational crown, Adis has already started to emerge as one of the fan favourites and a strong delegate for the country.
