Sakhile Dube – Zimbabwe’s first & highest placer at Miss Supranational

The 2023 edition of Miss Supranational was a historic edition with Ecuador’s Andrea Aguilera winning the title for the first time for her country. Not only her, the pageant saw historic placements with Zimbabwe’s Sakhile Dube winning the first and the highest placement for her country at the pageant for the first time.

Sakhile, with her stellar performance, placed in the Top 24 at the end of the event finale of Miss Supranational 2023 held on 14th July 2023 at Strzelecki Park Amphitheater, Nowy Sacz, Malopolska, Poland. She won the highest placement from Africa and was also awarded Miss Supranational Africa 2024 continental title. She also placed in Top 29 at the Talent competition, won Miss Supra Model of the Year.

On making history, Sakhile took to her official social media as she wrote, “Your Miss Supranational Africa (brand ambassador) and Supra Top Model 2023. The Miss Supranational experience taught me that vulnerability fosters empathy and allows us to see ourselves as exactly who we are, that’s a lesson I will forever cherish from this journey. There’s so much I’d like share but this post is dedicated to everyone who believed in me and showed support for Zimbabwe throughout this journey. Thank you, Ngiyabonga.”

Sakhile was studying Fashion Designing and Styling at Milano Fashion school before she began preparations for Miss Supranational 2023. She is one of 7 siblings and after her parents’ passing, her oldest brother, took it upon himself to take care of their family.

Sakhile owns her own small bikini label and has managed to secure several scholarships for herself. Her #FromtheGroundUpCSI project is based around orphan empowerment as she advocates for their rights in her country which stems from her own experiences as an orphan.

Winning the first and the highest placement for Zimbabwe has made her reach ever wishlist to see her compete at Miss Universe Zimbabwe in the future and represent her country at an international platform again. What do you think?
