The beauty queen who majored in chemistry in college, attracted everyone’s attention during the finals of Miss USA 2017 when she came through the question-answer round by giving the most unpredictable answers deviating from other contestants. Even before winning the Miss USA title, the beauty queen started a community program, Science Exploration for Kids, to encourage young girls and boys to get enthusiastic about STEM subjects, especially those who, like her, struggle with certain aspects of it. "I just want children to find joy in science at a young age and not look at it like it’s difficult," she said. "I’m hoping to visit schools, do science projects, maybe do symposiums with high school students, and encourage them to look at career fields in science, technology, engineering and math."
