Miss USA 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel responds to ‘cheating’ allegations

07 Oct 2022 | Priya Bhardwaj

Miss USA 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel just recently sat down with E! News to respond to the allegations that were recently made against her of rigging the win at the recently concluded Miss USA 2022. With multiple accusations were being made against her from her own batch mates of 2022, Gabriel has finally spoken up.

Gabriel set the record straight on the viral allegations and smear campaign shared by Miss Montana USA 2022 Heather Lee O'Keefe on social media against the Miss USA Organization. The allegations included favoritism and unfair advantage from the organizers and sponsors to Gabriel giving her a biased win. A few of the contestants also went online to share frustrations over their losses, heartbreaks, and broken dreams through which they implied that R'Bonney's victory was fixed.

During the exclusive interview with Erin Lim Rhodes, the newly crowned Miss USA 2022 said the pageant was definitely not rigged as she quoted, "I would never enter any pageant or any competition that I know I would win. I have a lot of integrity."

All of this drama has come after the Filipino-American beauty from Texas was crowned Miss USA 2022 on Monday, 3rd October 2022 at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. Her predecessor Miss USA 2021 Elle Smith of Kentucky also came in support of her successor and discussed her own experience.

"Right now, all I feel is concern and pity for R'Bonney. I understand how isolating it is to win Miss USA and I also understand what it is like to have your class try and discredit your win, and say that they are attacking the organization and not you. Last year, my class attempted to say that the organization favored me and they came up with all these different claims, I then debunked all their claims to prove them wrong, this class [2022] is doing the same exact thing to R'Bonney”, she said.

What do you think of these allegations?
