Lata Dutta represented India at Miss Universe 2000 on 12th May 2000 at the Eleftheria Indoor Hall in Nicosia, Cyprus, and became the second representative from India to win the crown; the first being Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen. Lara Dutta after her reign turned her way to join the showbiz and made her debut with ‘Andaaz’ which won her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

Lara continued to appear in various successful Bollywood movies but her love for pageantry always brought her back on stage and she dedicated herself to training and mentoring the young girls who would go and represent the country at Miss Universe. She mentored the divas for Miss Universe India 2017 and then in Miss Diva 2020 as well.

The beauty queen who holds the highest score in the swimsuit and her final interview score in the history of Miss Universe being 9.99 recently took to her social media to launch her online exclusive masterclass for the young girls who wish to prepare themselves to represent India at international beauty competitions in future. Lara posted a video in which she mentioned that one of the most common questions she is asked is “What did that moment feel like?” to which she replied, “As glorious as that moment was, the real story lies in the journey up to that point.”

Lara went onto say that in the last 26 years, she has had extensive experience in terms of modelling and pageantry along with mentoring candidates for Miss Universe. The exclusive masterclass with Lara Dutta will include topics like pageantry, fashion photography, ramp walk, personality development, personal grooming, and auditioning. She lastly mentioned that if someone is looking to make a career in pageantry or being a beauty queen, they need to watch or take this masterclass to understand what it takes to be a beauty queen.

The former Miss Universe’s initiative to mentor the young and dedicated girls of the country and help them achieve their goals received a lot of appreciation and applauds as various people thanked her for taking the initiative which will help the confident and young girls to pursue their dreams and goals. The exclusive masterclass will be in association with Social Swag World and will be available in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu languages so that more and more people could be able to access the information right from the queen.
