Reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach recently visited the historical Plaza de la Armas in Lima, wherein the beauty queen was honoured by the mayor of Lima Luis Castañeda. Later then, the mayor gave a unique title to the beauty queen and named her as “Distinguished Guest of Lima” or ‘Huésped distinguida de Lima’ in Spanish.
Pia is in Lima to grace the Miss Universe Peru 2016 pageant as one of the eminent judges. The beauty queen was escorted by Jessica Newton, organizer of the event and the reigning Miss Universe Peru Laura Spoya, who will pass the prestigious crown and reign to her successor as Miss Universe Peru 2016.

This is the very first time when reigning Miss Universe is visiting a Latin American nation. She is in Peru for her Miss Universe advocacies.
The Filipino beauty queen took to her Instagram handle to express her schedule, saying that she was hoping to go and see the quake-victims in Ecuador.

“Wasn’t quite ready to leave yet and I really do hate saying goodbyes but duty calls! Next stop… Peru! And a possible Ecuador trip in the works (fingers crossed it pushes thru) I have you all in my thoughts and prayers!” Wurtzbach stated.
Earlier Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was in Philippines to crown her successor as Miss Universe-Philippines during the Binibining Pilipinas 2016 coronation night which took place on April 17’ and saw Maxine Medina as the winner.
