15 Sep 2020 | Angelique Reyes

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has recently opened about her struggles and lessons she learnt during the quarantine or lockdown period. During a pageant-themed web talk show, “Queentuhan” that she co-hosts with Binibining Pilipinas International 2014 Bianca Guidotti and Mutya ng Pilipinas Intercontinental 2010 Carla Lizardo, she spoke about how she has been struggling with anxiety and how it is import to take care of one's mental health amid the pandemic.

Pia has also mentioned in one of her posts on social media that community quarantine is making her more appreciative of life in general. She shared that past few years, she has been living a fast-paced city life which she loves but due to the pandemic she has started to appreciate the sunsets, sunrises, or anything with a view. “It seems to me because that happens every day so why should I stare? But in this quarantine, I seem to appreciate her very much. Now I understand,” she said.

The beauty queen has shared that she has started to appreciate every little thing in her life and has urged everyone to do the same. She has mentioned that if there is one thing she has really appreciated or admired during the lockdown is the beauty of the nature and finally understood what people see in it. “I appreciate hiking, I appreciate the feeling of the sun on my face, the sunset, swimming in the sea (even though I don't know how to swim) as long as it's ALL," she stated.

Pia had pointed out how those little things like sunsets, sunrises or a view in general have helped ease her anxieties. Those things are a real stress reliever and she feels very lucky to experience all of this and is grateful for it. “There are also good things that this covid taught me like going back to basics. I think differently about sunsets today. There. Nothing, I just shinare,” she added.
