Miss Universe 2016 is inching closer to its finale with every passing day. As everybody is talking about the to be held finale, the contestants and their preparations, the not much talked about fact is also that the finale will mark an end to Pia Wurtzbach’s reign as Miss Universe. On 30th January 2017 Pia Wurtzbach will pass on her crown to her successor.

Pia turned emotional during a recent Facebook Live chat as she talked about her “soon to end” reign, and what she is going to miss once she passes on her crown to the next Miss Universe. Only three weeks left for the pageant, and Pia shared that she will miss working with the Miss Universe team; her manager, Esther Swan, and Miss Universe Organization executives Paula Shugart and Shawn McClain, among others.

"I’m going to miss Esther e-mailing me my itinerary every day, and our travels, our long talks in the airplane, our food trips. I am going to miss going to the office, reporting to you (Swan) when you’re getting mad if I am not doing my expense report or when I forget to put my phone on loud (mode) or I forget to charge it and you need to contact me,” she said.

Pia talked about Shugart and said she holds great respect for her and even though it has been more than a year working with Shugart, Pia still could not help but be very prim and proper every time the executive is around. "But she knows me. She knows that I’m really goofy and that I’m not really like that. I am going to miss her advice when she sits down, talks to me and she gives me life lessons," she added.

Pia credits everyone in the organisation for making her reign a success and feels obliged to have earned the opportunity to work with everybody.  Although Pia’s reign will officially end in the end of January, she will still work with the Miss Universe Organisation since some of her contracts go beyond January.

“I am very lucky that I still have a lot of work lined up after Miss Universe. In fact, my February is booked. That’s good. The work continues on. I’m coming back here in New York. I am going back to the office and [submit] my resume,” said Pia.

When asked about her future plans, Pia said she cannot reveal any such plans as of now but she did say that everything is going pretty well and she is not worried about what’s in store for her. The finale  of Miss Universe 2016 is slated to be held on 30th January 2017 in Mall of Asia Arena, Manila Philippines.
