Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters isn’t just about fashion shows and high-end brand name. She has, since her crowning, shown major interest in bringing about a change in the society. From contributing towards the awareness of women learning self-defence to now showing support to DKMS by attending their annual DKMS Love Gala, this woman has covered it all.

Demi-Leigh is in New York attending the DKMS Love Gala. Looking breathtaking in a stunning black gown paired with Vivaan jewellery and Manolo Blahnika shoes, Demi-Leigh bedazzled everyone at the love gala. Demi-Leigh ran into Canadian-South African model Maye Musk at the event and shared her encounter on her social media. The pair was heard conversing in Afrikaans with Maye heard saying that she misses South African, "boerewors" and "pap."

DKMS which stands for Deutsche Knochenmarkspenderdatei, a German abbreviation, was founded in 1991. The Founder Dr Peter Harf, who lost his wife to Leukemia, promised his late wife to help everyone in need of a stem cell donation to find a matching donor.

In 2004, as embarking on his international journey, Peter established his offices in the Americas and has expanded his initiative all over the world.

There is no doubt that the Universe queen makes us proud every single day of her humanity and her utmost wish to bring a change in the society with her efforts.
