Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is having the time of her life after her crowning on 26th November 2017. She has arrived in New York, USA as her first official tour as Miss Universe 2017 for the media week. This whole week, she will be giving interviews and interacting with various news channels mainly.

Demi arrived in New York just yesterday and shared a lovely photo with her bags full of luggage. Her Instagram caption said, “My home for the next year.” She will be staying in New York in her reigning period, while travelling to various countries. She seems pretty excited about exploring the city and was also seen visiting the famous Empire State Building.

After arrival, she gave her first media interview to Good Morning America. She stated, “I’ve already moved in, so I’m already a New Yorker for the year.”

“You visualise how you walk on that stage, how you’ll answer your final question and attend events, it makes it so much easier to be there because it feels like you’ve been there before,” she further mentioned talking about how her skills got sharpened in the Miss Universe contest.

Missing her hometown, she said, “Right now it’s nearly summer in South Africa and I’m missing that so much.”

This is her first time in New York, and she has expressed how excited she is and how she wants to try all the new things here, whether it is the food, places or the culture.
