Just after the win of Manushi Chhillar at Miss World 2017, India has already set high hopes for the Miss Universe 2017 representative, Shraddha Shashidhar to get the coveted crown home. We just saw the release of Shraddha’s introductory video and she nailed it completely.
She starts the video with the famous Sanskrit Indian phrase/ motto ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, which means "the world is one family". She talks about her father’s army background which gave her the opportunity to travel a lot all over India, which in turn made her very accepting and adaptive to new cultures.
She advocates breaking the barriers of not understanding different cultures through travelling. She says in the video, “If you don’t travel to different locations then you don’t understand the world perspective about issues, about people, their traditions and art, whatever it is. If you really want to conquer everything out there, understand what’s happening in the entire world, you have to go and travel.”
Shraddha is 21 years of age and stands tall at 170 cm. A media graduate who specialized in journalism, Shraddha aspires to be a globetrotter and a television host of global repute. Having migrated to 24 states and studied in 11 schools, she is a master of many trades. She is a seasonal face of Nike India and recipient of an outstanding performer in academics by Govt. of India. Shraddha has also done tremendously well at classical dancing, running marathons and athletics.
We hope that after Manushi has made India proud in Miss World 2017, Shraddha repeats history just like Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen in 1994, when they won the Miss World and Miss Universe crowns simultaneously.
