Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters recently paid a visit to Jonathan Adler Same Sky Event to promote and celebrate women empowerment and the holiday season. Being a woman, Demi believes in the growth and prosperity of women in all the fields and aspires to make all the women self-independence and self-sufficient.

Same Sky organization works for the exact same cause. They work to create employment opportunities for women struggling to lift themselves out of extreme poverty. With collectives based in Rwanda and the USA, they see firsthand that real change happens with the dignity of work and the freedom of being self-sufficient. They tap into the Same Sky Artisans’ talent and potential and provide them with training and tools.

Demi-Leigh’s main advocacy also deals with women empowerment. In fact, an incidence in her life where she was carjacked in Johannesburg earlier this year inspired her to initiate a program. She helped develop to train women in self-defence in various situations called the Unbreakable campaign. She plans to share these workshops and help as many women as she can.

In five years, she also hopes to have a global platform where she can help women around the world develop their business skills.
