On 17th December 2018, the beautiful Catriona Gray was crowned as the Miss Universe 2018. By securing this win she became the fourth Filipina to win the coveted title and bringing the crown back to her home country. She has been grabbing a lot of attention and creating headlines due to her impeccable style statement and sartorial fashion choices during the New York Fashion Week. But this time it seems she made a completely unintentional blunder by wearing rip-off couture of designer Sabyasachi in the fall show of designer Sherri Hill at New York Fashion Week.

Catriona was recently spotted at the New York Fashion Week attending the fall 2019 show of Sherri Hill. The beauty queen was seen flaunting a black embellished dress with a slit in the middle and a skirt underneath and looked elegant. But her dress had a striking resemblance with the 2016 Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s Firdaus collection. One can clearly see the visible similarity of the floral designs on a black velvet base with zari work on the borders of the dress. This made a lot of people upset on social media as they starting accusing Catriona of wearing a fake outfit.

Sabyasachi’s outfit, which is a long traditional Anarkali suit, has embellished floral designs on it and a deep slit in the middle. The rip off had a similar embellished pattern, slit in the middle but a skirt underneath to give it a modern touch. The unforgivable social media accused Catriona of wearing a rip off version of Sabyasachi’s collection and its designer got called out for the same.
